Holding Space for Your Journey
By Kathryn Gale, Psychologist
I’m Kathryn Gale, and it is my privilege to have walked alongside new parents at Joint Dynamics Evolve for 5 years, providing support during one of life's biggest transitions: the journey into and through early parenthood.
In my years of specialising in perinatal psychology, I have learned that while we focus on many of the physical aspects of pregnancy and postpartum recovery, the emotional journey often goes unspoken. You’re not alone - many new parents on the perinatal journey feel unsure, anxious, and overwhelmed.
Why I Do This Work
Whether you’re on the journey to conceive, already pregnant, or caring for a newborn, you may be feeling:
The quiet weight of expectations, from society, family, or yourself (mum guilt)
A shifting sense of identity, still not feeling like your old self
Waves of anxiety about the birth, your capability, or your baby's wellbeing.
The complex emotions that can surface after birth, even when you feel you "should" be happy.
A need to process a birth experience that did not go as hoped, or one that left you feeling vulnerable.
‘Baby blues’ that just won’t go away
A need for strategies to help navigate a change in relationship dynamics with partner, extended family or helper
These feelings are not signs of weakness. In fact, it’s our own self judgement, and the belief that these things mean there’s something ‘wrong’ with us, that gets in the way of healing, and moving forward.
How I Work: Online, Adaptable, and Centred on You
As a mother myself, I understand the chaos of early parenting. That is why I offer sessions online, to meet you exactly where you are, in the comfort and privacy of your own space.
Flexible session times mean you can prioritise your emotional wellbeing without adding logistical stress.
What Our Time Together Offers
When we meet, my goal is to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and entirely yours. Here, you can:
Speak openly without fear of judgement.
Untangle complex emotions with clarity and compassion.
Learn gentle, practical tools to manage anxiety, stress, or low mood.
Process birth experiences or past traumas.
Strengthen your relationship with your partner through improved communication and shared understanding.
Build resilience and confidence as you grow into your role as a parent.
I draw on evidence-based approaches, but our sessions will always be guided by your unique needs, values, and pace.
A Seamless Part of Your Care Team
I love working within a clinic that values holistic care. Here, your emotional and physical wellbeing are seen as deeply connected.
Please contact the clinic directly to schedule an introductory 15 minute call (so as I can answer any questions and explain more about how I work), or to book in for an online session.
