How It Works
A TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machine sends small electrical pulses through the skin, via the electrodes, to the underlying nerves. This can help reduce the intensity of pain signals being transmitted to your brain and ease your perception of pain. Additionally, TAP can stimulate your body’s natural production of endorphins - your own pain-relieving chemicals.
You control the intensity of the stimulation, the location of the electrode pads, and, in discussion with your physiotherapist, the most suitable shape of the electrode pad.
