WHAT TO BRING:

  • Comfortable clothing that you can move around in, Joint Dynamics have lockers and showering facilities should you need them.

  • Any doctor’s referral or reports that are relevant to your symptoms or concerns

WHEN SHOULD I VISIT:

If menstruating you can still have assessment, note on the first day or 2 of your menstrual cycle you may have heavier flow and elements of the examination may be carried out at a subsequent session.  If you are uncomfortable with having the assessment during this time please call or email for a rebooking. We totally understand. 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT:

Your Women’s Health appointment relating to changes in your body during menopause will cover many aspects of your health and wellbeing.  Your physiotherapist will:

  • Obtain historical information about your menstrual history, pregnancies, childbirth, current hormone status and symptoms

  • The session may involve a pelvic floor examination if indicated, see her for more information Pelvic floor examination (internal vaginal examination)

  • Depending on your current symptoms and concerns discussions can incorporate exercise, weight management, bone health, vaginal dryness &/or sexual dysfunction, joint pain, arthritis and musculoskeletal pain.
